Militants of Al-Shabaab attacked Ethiopian military base near Bardera city in the Gedo region of Somalia, on the borderland with Kenya and Ethiopia. Local sources report about huge losses of governmental militia and Ethiopian personnel.
This attack is the part of so called “Battle of Gedo” – conflict between the al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab and the Somali government and its allies, which was started in 2009.
