Taliban Statement on Russia Payment, June 27, 2020
Remarks by the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate regarding the false claims of some Western media
Some Western media outlets have reported that Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate received a payment from Russia for assassinating US troops and other such rumors.

We strongly reject this allegation. The Islamic Emirate during the last 19 years of jihad is not indebted to the beneficience of any intelligence agency or foreign country, nor does the Islamic Emirate need anyone to determine its objectives.

During the 19-year jihad, the Islamic Emirate used the weapons, facilities and equipment that were already available in Afghanistan or from time to time looted from the other side during the war.

The biggest damage to US forces was caused by the simple plastic containers that Afghans filled in their homes with homemade explosives.

Such rumors are spread to create obstacles to the withdrawal of American troops, weaken and confuse the pro-peace mentality in the United States, and attribute the great heroism and achievements of the Afghan people to foreign powers.

We reassure our nation and then the entire world that the Islamic Emirate is not a tool of anyone and is not hired for veiled purposes, but has sacrificed for the protection of its religion, country and higher interests and has done everything on its own. Have achieved with courage.

Such rumors have no effect on the position of the Islamic Emirate. We are committed to achieving the goal of full peace in the implementation of the agreement that we have signed with the United States, and we are committed to doing so in the future as we have done so far.

Zabihullah Mujahid is the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate
