Terroristic attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, Mar 06, 2020
Since the deal between U.S. and Taliban was signed at least 70 talib’s attacks to military and police objects in Afghanistan were reported despite agreed “comprehensive ceasefire”. The most significant and bloody terrorists attack took place at Mar 06 during Hazara community leader Shaheed Mazari anniversary ceremony in Kabul.
Gunmen opened fire on the square fulfilled by people. Attack came during live program when Karim Khalili, the current chairman of the Afghan High Peace Council and the Vice President of Afghanistan, held a speech. As the result of attack at least 32 were killed and 81 have been wounded. Several prominent politicians, including the country's chief executive and recent presidential candidate, Abdullah Abdullah, were in the audience but escaped unharmed. IS Khurasan took responsibility for the attack. They stated that attack was conducted by 2 of its members: Ahmad Al-Tajiki and Abdel-Rahman Al-Muhajir. But despite this statement many people in Afghanistan blamed a Taliban in this attack.
Abdul Ali Mazari is the founder of the Al-Nasr militant group and political movement, which was a part of a political union of Shi'a Afghan Mujahideen “Tehran Eight” during 80's war in Afghanistan, and then he became a leader of Hezb-e Wahdat Party at 90's. Soon he became an enemy of Jamayat-E-Islami Party leader Burhanuddin Rabbani and allied himself with political and militant leaders Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and Abdul Rashid Dostum. Between 1992 and 1995 Mazari forces fought bloody battles with Rabbani's ally Abdul Rasul Sayyaf near Kabul, which resulted civilian massacres and unprecedented sectarian violence. In 1995 Taliban captured Mazari and later killed him along with whole Hezb-e Wahdat leadership. Circumstances of his death are still shady and unclear. Mazari was buried in Mazār-i-Sharīf. President Ashraf Ghani declared him a martyr in 2016. Hazara community is a traditional target of terroristic attacks of Taliban and IS during last many years.
