Jakub Skrzypski in Raqqa
The story of a convicted prisoner in West Papua, Indonesia, Polish citizen Jakub Skrzypski is becoming increasingly interesting. According to non-confirmed reports, in 2015, together with a team of Spanish anarcho-communists, a Polish citizen named Jakub Skrzypski entered Syria, where he joined the SDF/YPG forces under the warname "Kuba". As part of the “International Battalion”, with citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Spain, Australia and other countries, he participated in operations against the Islamic State in northern Iraq and Syria, in particular in the operation to liberate the city of Raqqa. Shortly after the liberation of Raqqa, in late November - early December 2017, he left Syria and moved to Turkey. There he established contacts with the left-wing anarchist organization “International Freedom Battalion”, which recruits fighters to engage in conflicts around the world - from Haiti to Indonesia. Taking into account that the West Papua Liberation Movement has mostly an anarchic ideology, it is not surprising that the former SDF/YPG fighter went there. In addition, the former Islamic State militants are now heading to Southeast Asia, so this direction is logical from the point of view of continuing the fighting. Therefore, if this information will be reliably confirmed, the accusations of the Indonesian authorities will looking not bad founded.
