The purpose of presenting this collection is to demonstrate the diversity of L/DPR illegal armed groups and the peculiarities of visual self-representation of their militancy. The main sets of symbols used (animalistic, like a wolf, bear, panther, etc., Russian imperial, Soviet communist, Orthodox Christian symbols, etc.) allow us to estimate the basement of the identities of the militants are built. Besides, the evolution of chevrons - from the chaotic accumulation of various symbols in 2014 to the orderly monotony of 2019 – demonstrate the influence of Kremlin curators to the process of military construction in L/DPR.
