Police crackdown on doctors and patients riot against closure of tuberculosis hospital, Southern Ural, Russia
After three days of strike and riots of doctors and patients, supported by local trade-union “Doctor’s Alliance”, police had stormed the building of the tuberculosis hospital in the village Chernavsky near Kurgan, Russia. Two activists – Anastasia Vassilieva and Anastasia Tarabrina were arrested, patients were displaced into another hospital. Against the backdrop of an economic recession, throughout #Russia there is a massive reduction and dismissal of doctors, the closure of hospitals, which causes dissatisfaction of staff and patients.
